The Classroom of the Future 2016 – Lighthouse for ideas

Lighthouse Of Ideas 58196

The Classroom of the Future is characterised by innovation, interaction and creativity. Here, pupils, teachers, students and publishers can immerse themselves in the education of the future. In 2016, the Classroom of the Future once again offered exciting expeditions on current topics.
The interactive lessons allow for first-hand learning and discovery. For the first time, the Classroom of the Future offered supplementary learning materials, made available free of charge on various platforms. The project also had a brand new look at the Frankfurt Book Fair: a black-and-white design, which will become increasingly colourful through creativity and ingenuity over the course of the week of the fair.

In 2016, the following topics were featured in the Classroom of the Future:
Dokumentation/Rückblick 2014

  • Science
  • Robotics/Coding
  • Digital Arts
  • Next-generation storytelling (journalistic formats)
  • World of Senses (e.g. Indonesian Cuisine at the FoodExplorer stand, hall 3.1 K 94)

Books say welcome

Boev Willkommen Buecher 230x160px.jpg

Starting on the International Literacy Day in 2015, the German Publishers & Booksellers Association, the Frankfurt Book Fair and LitCam introduced a joint initiative for refugees with the slogan “Books say welcome”. With the help of donations from the book trade, reading and learning corners are created in order to give refugees quick and easy access to educational and reading material. The project is featured at the Frankfurt Book Fair as well. At a collective presentation exhibitors present their "German as second/foreign language" titles and multilingual books in the LitCam-area, Hall 3.1.
